Redwood Welcomes Kim Bauman to Strengthen Global Trade Management Practice

At Redwood, we know that supply chain success doesn’t stop at the border. As global regulations tighten and compliance becomes more critical, companies don’t just need a vendor, they need a partner who understands how to move with the pace of trade. That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Kim Bauman to the Redwood team as our new Solutions Engineer.

Kim brings decades of Oracle GTM expertise and a sharp understanding of international trade compliance. Her experience spans large-scale implementations, compliance strategy, and helping organizations move beyond spreadsheets to smarter, more strategic solutions.

Redwood’s Chief Marketing Officer, Arlyn Knox, sat down with Kim to hear more about her vision for Redwood’s GTM offering, the challenges companies are up against today, and where she sees the biggest opportunities for transformation.

Arlyn Knox (AK): We’re so excited to have you here! What drew you to Redwood and this role in particular?

Kim Bauman (KB): Global trade has always been a thriving, unique niche within the supply chain world, and I knew I wanted to get back into it. I was specifically looking for an Oracle partner because of my experience, and when I saw Redwood had an opening, it was an easy decision. They’re a Certified Oracle Partner, which told me a lot about their credibility. And once I met the team, everything clicked. It was a great culture fit and a great alignment with my passion for trade compliance technology.

AK: With a career backed in Oracle GTM knowledge and expertise, what’s the biggest challenge you’re helping customers solve today?

KB: The biggest challenge right now is the growing complexity from geopolitical instability and changing regulations. That all rolls into one very tangible problem for our customers: tariff management. It’s no longer enough to just react, but companies need a real strategy to manage costs and stay compliant.

AK: How do you see Redwood’s GTM approach standing out in the broader supply chain tech landscape?

KB: Redwood is uniquely positioned because of its long-standing strength in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM). GTM and OTM can work independently, but when combined strategically, they create real end-to-end visibility and control. Redwood understands that. They’ve built a GTM practice with the same care, depth, and expertise that’s made their OTM practice successful, backed by proven implementations and a sharp team that knows the space inside and out.

AK: What’s one emerging trend in trade compliance or global visibility that leaders shouldn’t ignore?

KB: I’ll give you two! First, there’s a big opportunity to miss when companies don’t take advantage of trade programs like duty drawbacks, FTAs, and foreign trade zones. Many don’t have the internal resources to manage them, and that’s where they leave money on the table.

Second, companies need to understand the risk of not having a compliance tool in place. Without it, you're vulnerable to audit issues, fines, and long-term reputational damage. Once you're on the audit radar, it’s hard to get off. A compliance tool helps mitigate that risk while improving internal operations.

AK: What does success look like for you in your first year?

KB: Success for me means growing our GTM footprint with multiple implementations and conducting health checks. A lot of customers have tools in place but don’t realize they’re only using a fraction of the functionality. We can help them uncover that value. And for those still managing trade compliance on spreadsheets, we want to introduce them to what’s possible with the right system. It’s about education, enablement, and showing them that there’s a better way.

Redwood’s GTM capabilities are expanding with purpose, and with Kim Bauman leading the charge, our customers are in expert hands. Ready to simplify your trade compliance strategy? Let’s talk.
