At Redwood, we believe bold thinking and strong partnerships are the keys to unlocking value across the U.S.-Mexico trade corridor. As trade between the two countries continues to hit record highs, shippers are demanding smarter, more agile strategies to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape, reduce costs, and ensure speed and compliance.
That’s why we’re thrilled to welcome Mariana Priego to the Redwood Mexico team as our new Strategic Sales Manager. With nearly a decade of experience across rail, truckload, and third-party logistics, Mariana brings a unique perspective to cross-border operations and a proven passion for solving complex customer challenges.
Recently, Arlyn Knox, Redwood’s Chief Marketing Officer, sat down with Mariana to learn more about her background, her vision for the role, and what excites her most about her career at Redwood.
Arlyn Knox (AK): Can you share a bit about your career journey and what led you to focus on cross-border sales?
Mariana Priego (MP): My career started about eight years ago, unexpectedly, at a railroad company. I wasn’t originally aiming for a sales role, but when the opportunity came up, I raised my hand… And that’s how it all began! I started in sales for the automotive sector, then moved into a role at an asset-based carrier to deepen my truckload knowledge. After that, I joined a logistics company to round out my experience. I’ve been learning ever since, and I love how dynamic this space is. I learn something new every day and that’s what keeps me energized.
AK: What’s one major challenge customers are up against today, and how does Redwood step in to solve it?
MP: The cross-border market is extremely volatile, especially with shifting tariffs and trade agreements. The work we do at Redwood stands out because we focus a lot on our partnership with customers, aside from providing them with the right solutions. With real-time visibility, expert consulting, and agile strategies, we help customers stay ahead of disruption instead of playing catch-up.
AK: Redwood is known for our innovation. How do you contribute to that in your role?
MP: For me, innovation starts with listening. I focus on understanding our customers’ challenges and then work with our internal teams to create tailored solutions. I stay close to market trends and bring those insights into customer conversations to help them anticipate changes before they happen. It’s about moving fast, staying aligned, and sharing what we know to deliver results.
AK: You recently hosted a LinkedIn Live on Mexico’s changing tariffs. What stood out most to you?
MP: One of the biggest takeaways was how fast regulations can shift and how important it is to stay flexible. We talked about compliance readiness, technology strategies, and the role of strong partnerships. Not only is it smart to stay informed, but you gain a competitive edge, especially with U.S.-Mexico trade growing so rapidly.
AK: You’ve been a part of the Redwood crew for a little while now, how would you describe the culture?
MP: It’s collaborative, fast-paced, and purpose-driven. Everyone has a strong sense of ownership, but it’s also incredibly supportive. Whether you’re in sales, operations, or even a customer, there’s a shared mindset: we’re in this together. It was amazing to connect with customers and partners face to face at our recent Cross-Border Logistics Council summit. That’s Redwood’s culture: bringing people together to solve real-world challenges.
AK: Redwood is growing fast and transforming the logistics landscape. What motivated you to come on board, and where do you see the biggest opportunities ahead?
MP: What excites me most is the opportunity to evolve alongside our customers. Redwood is reshaping logistics with innovative technology and a true customer-first mentality. Because of that, we’re solving real challenges and helping supply chains adapt to a constantly changing global trade environment. I think the logistics industry is transforming fast, and Redwood is right at the center of that shift. I’m energized by the momentum, the strategy, and the chance to deliver value in ways we haven’t even imagined yet.
Redwood Mexico isn’t just expanding — it’s evolving. With leaders like Mariana joining the team, we’re even better positioned to help shippers thrive across borders.
