Redwood at CSCMP EDGE 2021

Back In-Person

Last week, Redwood attended CSCMP EDGE 2021 Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition in Atlanta. It was a week filled with industry experts, the latest innovations, opportunities to share our insight and solutions to today’s biggest supply chain challenges.

After a disruptive year for the logistics industry, we were thrilled to return to this core industry event in person where we met with other industry leaders to discuss top strategies and concepts in reinventing the supply chain.

We were also excited to showcase our brand new booth!

Optimizing the Supply Chain

Our Chief Innovation Officer, Eric Rempel, kick-started the week with a session all about optimizing the supply chain called “Fragmentation Nation: How a Leading Produce Supplier, Taylor Farms, Utilized Technology to Continuously Optimize its Supply Chain Despite a Splintering Logistics Market” in which   the challenges of remaining efficient at scale, while also dealing with a plethora of supply chain and demand issues was discussed.

Specifically, Rempel touched on our work with Taylor Farms, the world’s top producer of fresh-cut produce. They faced the challenge of inbound transportation across five U.S. facilities, resulting in multiple people constantly juggling tasks and navigating overlapping work.

With the help of Redwood’s Logistics Platform as a Service (LPaaS), we were able to restore order among the chaos that Taylor Farms experienced.

You can access the full session on-demand here.

Making Critical Connections

During the emerging trends track, supply chain leaders and experts reinforced the importance of full supply chain connectivity in order to address common disruptions as well as strategic handling of long-term issues. Committed to streamlining the management of complex, disparate systems into one, easy-to-use platform, our team introduced our proprietary supply chain software platform, RedwoodConnect, to the event attendees.

We encourage our clients to focus on what they do best and let us do the heavy lifting. We’ve been able to produce a significant ROI while simultaneously reducing our clients’ stress once they had complete visibility of their supply chain through digitization.

The Next Generation

During the expo, CSCMP released its Young Professionals in Supply Chain report, revealing 99% of supply chain professionals aged 30 and younger agree that becoming involved in the supply chain industry is a quality career choice. It also found that 58% of those surveyed stated that they pursued a supply chain career due to its beneficial societal impact.

Based on the amount of college-aged students in attendance who were active and listening during presentations, it became clear that the next generation of supply chain workers are eager and excited to begin their new logistics career path.

From the opening keynote to the closing session, and everything in-between, world-renowned experts, industry leaders, and visionary thinkers inspired us all week long.

We’re looking forward to attending more conferences in person and continuing to share our ideas and insights on today’s supply chain in the near future.
