About Redwood

For more than 15 years, Redwood Logistics has been unwavering in its dedication to guiding clients through the challenges of transportation management.

SEE OUR TIMELINE

Our Mission is to bring energy and innovation to logistics and help businesses prosper in a high-demand world. We come to work every day magnetized by that very idea.

We come from humble entrepreneurial beginnings, and we know first-hand how difficult it is to guess your way through things and create success alone. It’s why we’re passionate about helping our clients master transportation.

We help customers simplify and focus on their core business by informing their transportation decisions with data-driven, cost-saving insights. Our customers are confident we are securing right-fit, predictable capacity through our tested and trusted carrier network.

And it’s not just about solving crazy challenges or implementing intricate tech solutions. It’s also about how it’s done. We build every relationship on a framework of collaboration, understanding, humanity, and respect. We partner with you, invest in the relationship, and become a part of your team.

We believe we can find a way to help every business improve. It’s the reason why after nearly 20 years, we still work exceptionally hard to make ship happen. No matter your journey, your success is our destination.

They stay with us because we provide a more rewarding experience. Redwood Logistics builds deep, long-lasting relationships by creating flexible, right-fit solutions that deliver value and improvement year after year.

Redwood Timeline

The Start – 2001

Our founders, fresh off their experience at one of the largest logistics companies in North America, saw the need for a new kind of brokerage – one that would better service the small to mid-sized market. In 2001, armed with the belief that “you’re only as good as your last load,” our founders formed Transportation Solutions Group® (TSG®), a brand that became known for its superior customer service and ability to always find a way.

Redwood Timeline

2004 – 2005

Their belief in themselves paid off and TSG grew. After several years, the entrepreneurs identified a rising need to provide additional, reliable, cost-effective capacity. As a result, in 2004 they spun off sister company Freight Exchange (F/X), an asset-based truckload company. It was another way to show that our company was committed to our growing customer base by investing in rolling assets.

In 2005, our next epiphany came when we realized that moving data and information was just as important as moving freight. So we developed our own proprietary transportation management system (TMS), knowing that technology would be the key to our future.

Redwood Timeline

2009 – 2011

By 2009, technology solutions were ruling the next evolution of logistics. With innovation as the driving force behind our growing business, our team began to develop sophisticated data-driven solutions for our clients. By 2011, buoyed by our success, we created our technology-powered managed services company, 3PLogic.

To further add to the growth of 2011, we created our holding company, Transportation Solutions Enterprises (TSE), to provide shared services to our operating companies and put us on a journey towards an integrated model.

Redwood Timeline

2013

In 2013, we acquired Defined Logistics and The Treppel Group. Both companies added additional offerings to our customers, including freight forwarding, international, intermodal, warehouse, and distribution. We realized then that we’d hit a turning point.

Redwood Timeline

2015

With our diversity of services, data-driven network solutions, and strategically integrated model, we had positioned ourselves as the dominant player in the mid-market space. We officially became Redwood Logistics.

Redwood Timeline

2017

2017 served as another pivotal year for the brand, as Redwood Logistics was acquired by CI Capital and merged with Simplified Logistics – an Ohio-based less-than-truckload logistics provider – to form a unique, full-service logistics platform. The complementary nature of both legacy businesses made this a natural combination that created a differentiated, multimodal offering, improving the competitive positioning of both companies.

Redwood Timeline

2018

In 2018 Redwood continued our unique growth story:

Redwood and Simplified merged into a combined brand, Redwood Logistics.

We opened a new distribution center in El Paso, TX.

We launched Redwood Mexico to provide operations and sales support for cross-border shipping.

We enhanced our service with the opening of an office in Phoenix, AZ.

Redwood Timeline

2019

We acquired LTX Solutions to expand our LTL footprint and bolster our presence in the Southeast.

We acquired Strive Logistics to further expand our brokerage offering, drive greater efficiencies and expand our Southwest presence with a best in class operating center in Austin TX.
