CHICAGO — April 15, 2016 — Redwood Logistics, a strategically-integrated logistics provider, announced today that it was named 2015 Dry Van/Intermodal Carrier of the Year by the Ingredion Incorporated US Logistics Team. Ingredion is a leading global ingredients solutions company, specializing in sweeteners, starches, nutrition ingredients and biomaterials for food and beverages, as well as paper and pharmaceuticals.
Redwood first began doing business with Ingredion in early 2013 moving spot freight. Within three years, the company had developed the relationship beyond providing transactional capacity to that of an integrated partner by taking on more operational duties and outperforming expectations.
“Redwood Logistics consistently demonstrates a high level of performance evident through exceptional metrics results and outstanding direct feedback from the Logistics Planning Team,” said Nate Pedue, Sr. Logistics Analyst, Ingredion. “Their ability to adapt to increased operational responsibility, while providing valued feedback on our operations, has allowed them to evolve into a key partner for Ingredion.”
Ingredion assesses partner carriers using a weighted scorecard based on performance in the areas of primary tender acceptance, secondary tender acceptance, on-time to pick up appointment, on-time to delivery appointment, on-time to requested delivery date, and Logistics Planner rankings. Redwood not only met, but exceeded, the new on-time pickup and delivery metric expectations. The company also earned the highest rating in Ingredion’s weighted performance scorecard.
Todd Berger, President and CEO, Redwood Logistics remarked, “Remaining diligent and focused on superior customer service and operational excellence is our goal. This outstanding recognition serves as motivation to continue to do just that.”
